It is a perfect
venue for any kind of small and intimate celebrations
such as birthdays, anniversaries, christenings
etc.
Down pavement steps and past a historic natural
water well, Crofts is set
in stunning Wine Cellars situated under Lemon
Sole in Old Portsmouth. Crofts
is scattered with timely reminders of why
it was named. Annie Croft brought Music Hall
into Theatres and her sons Peter and David
acted, directed and wrote such classics as
Dad’s Army, It Ain’t Half
Hot Mum, Allo, Allo, Hi de Hi and Are You
Being Served. Original stone floors
and brickwork are still in place and a cooking
range, built at the same time as the one on
the Mary Rose, takes pride of place. It is
an ideal venue so people could pop in for
a drink alone or with friends, would like
dinner for two or a lively celebration, so
we have added some subtle improvements to
make sure it fits the bill.
As with Lemon Sole upstairs,
if you choose to eat with us you can select
from either the extensive fish counter or
impressive menu available, accompanied by
a medley of wine choice. So whether you wine
or wine and dine, either way we would be delighted
if you came to visit.
Yours truly, King of Sole
